Design Of The Year Award 2012





The Royal Wedding Dress designed by THE Duchess of Cambridge's Sarah Burton, is nominated for the Design of the Year award against the Olympic torch, which is awarded by the Design Museum. Also Savage Beauty exhibition by Alexander McQueen from The Metropolitan Museum of Art is nominated for the award.

Other nominees in the fashion category include autumn/winter 2011-12 collections by Mary Katrantzou and CĂ©line; Ethical Fashion Africa Collection by Vivienne Westwood; and shoe company Melissa's collaboration with Gaetano Pesce.

Before an overall Design of the Year is chosen, a winner will be selected from the Fashion category - in addition to the six other categories: Architecture, Digital, Graphics, Product, Furniture and Transport. A panel of experts will choose the winners in all categories. The winners will be announced at an Awards Night held at the Design Museum on April 24.
